August 24, 2011

Wow have we been busy. Papa came down Friday night and brought Luci her monkey painting from Debec's. It even has her name on it. And, of course Luci loves it. She runs around the house saying "monkey! monkey!" - it's too cute. LOL

I baked Papa a blueberry cobbler Friday night before I went to bed and then Saturday morning I got up early, picked up Wendy and headed to Brenda's funeral. It was hard. I miss her. We got to go out to the grave yard and I got to talk to Mr. Billy (her husband) for a minute before the crowd took over. He told me how much she loved me. I had to go home after that.

I picked up Tony at 5pm that night and I was so freaking happy. It hasn't been as hard getting used to having him back home as I thought it was going to be. We haven't had any fights or anything. Weird. I expected it to be hard but when I was in California we kinda went through that difficult phase where we got on each other's nerves and didn't know how to act. So, I guess when he got home, we didn't have to go through it again. Yay! LOLOL I was so happy to have to grass mowed for one thing. It turns out the battery was dead so I'm not as much of an idiot as I thought I was. Ha!

So far this week has been much better than last week. We have got some much done. The Servo people came in and dried out the water damage in the bedrooms, the insurance people came for the estimate, and the Laz-E-Boy guy came and fixed Tony's chair. Good stuff. LOL

Tony's first day of work was today and he thinks it's going to be ok over there. He got all the dates for the deployments, etc. and I have to start dealing with that soon. He leaves in five months or so.

Everyone is asleep right now. I'm watching the 5th Harry Potter and loving every minute of it. I guess that's about it for now. :-)

Worst Week of my Life

This week has been one of the worst weeks of my life. It really sucks considering last week was one of the best. It all started when I left California. I got back to New Orleans around midnight and my car won't start. It's dead. The security guard gets it running for me but meanwhile I was sweating to death because I had gotten used to the wonderful California weather...so then we finally get home. I wake up Tuesday to the news that Brenda has died. I've been devastated since. Then Wednesday I get in trouble with my job. I gave a student a zero and she through a fit and the university basically threw me under the bus and made me feel stupid. If I didn't need the money I would have told them to shove it but whatever (the story is much longer....too long to type all the stupid details).

Then Keaton gets written up at school for not listening and Jaeleigh keeps screaming and crying all the time when she does her homework. Just as I feel I may fall off the edge of this super-tall cliff, my air conditioner starts leaking and soaks Luci's carpet and walls. I had to call the insurance company and they contacted a water-cleanup company who came out this morning and ripped out the carpet. It's a mess. Then, Wendy and I drove to Brenda's funeral this morning. I got lost on our way to the church, so by the time we got there, the casket was closed. I am actually thankful for that, because I may have lost it. I did get pretty emotional when I saw Dr. Matt. I don't know why...I guess because the office crew was all back together, but Brenda was gone. It was hard. Very hard.

Then, finally, at 5pm Tony's flight landed. My man is back home after being gone five weeks. So, I hope next week is much better than this week was and this cliff that I feel like I'm standing on starts strinking...

Hollywood

Today was one of those days that you never forget. You talk about it when you are old and grey and sitting in your rocking chair.

Tony, Luci and I got up super early and headed to this outlet mall where they had designer clothes...I got my first pair of designer jeans - True Religion! I also got some stuff from Lucky. I'm one happy woman! From there, we went by Laguna Beach which was just so beautiful. I went on the beach and got some photos there. I even took some sand and a shell. HAHA

After that, we headed to Hollywood. We went down Hollywood Blvd and saw all the stars on the Walk of Fame and then we saw the celebrity hand/footprints at the Chinese Theatre. Very cool stuff. Once we were done there, we had the more fabulous lunch ever at The Ivy in Beverly Hills. Dream come true! Then I shopping at Kitson in Beverly Hills for awhile before we heaed to the Santa Monica Pier. That was so cool too because it was like a carnival on the pier. We watched the sunset there before heading back to San Diego, arriving at the hotel right before midnight.

It was definitely a day to remember.
